Spring time weather here in Galveston Today!

Sorry, I do not have photos today of the spring time weather in Galveston.
It is beautiful today.
The weatherman did say some showers tomorrow.

**********
I finally completed one of my UFO's from last year. I saw this pattern at a quilt shop and thought "hum", I can do this. Plus, I am alway looking for a great organizer.

Here is my new purse insert.

I had to put this away, due to keeping calm!

While staying in Galveston, I decided to pack it along.  It was raining when we first arrive. So I decided to take another crack at it and finally got it all done.

Not sure if I will make another one.

Also, today I completed my small quilt for January's Small Quilt Talk Group.

Feedsack Flower Garden
This pattern was great to use up all those great scraps I had in my bin, plus great practice for me.  I am still pretty new to quilting. You can tell with my FMQ!

Notice the fabric is the same as the purse insert above.
I just love scraps!
The pattern is from Kathleen Tracy's book American Doll Quilts. You can find her book here. I made my small quilt different from the pattern in the book.  I did not pack a lot of fabric and scraps with me and the nearest quilt shop is in Texas City.

Where is the sun in Galveston?

Where is the sun in Galveston?

It is cold, wet, and windy here for pretty much the next three days.
I did go out for  a walk earlier, but it was too cold and windy! So much for my exercise today.

I did take the stairs!

I did bring two sewing machines with me. My PFAFF and Featherweight. The night before my Morse machine gave up on me.

I believe it is just tired. It is older than me. LOL! I am hoping that all it needs is oil, if not I will take it to B & B in Victoria. Mark does wonders when I just cannot make my machines to purr.

Make sure  to stop at Sew We Quilt
for the In your words Blog Hop. Two days left for the hop.
I have seen sew many creative projects on the hop. Linda at  Buzzing and Bumbling is cheerleading.

We are away on a business trip (my WDH is) and I am hoping that I can at least get one of my projects finished.

I mailed my first Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap out this past weekend. I will post a photo later when it arrives across the big blue ocean down under. I hope they like it.

 Enough said for now.

Stay warm, happy quilting and hope that you enjoyed your visit here @

Goodness, it's Friday and a New Year.
I have been cutting out my fabric and packing for my trip out of town. Just not my suitcase yet.
I will be heading out to pick up my rental and leave tomorrow for the big city.
First my grand-daughters birthday is Sunday. The big 7! Yes, 7!
Then meet up with the DH on Monday!
He is working all week up in LaPorte.
Later in the week, I will be going thru my daughter's personal belongings and later packing up what we are keeping. We already went thru the children's belongings and their father came to pick them up. The children are with their father and they spent Christmas with us at my son's home.
They all look like they are coming along well and had a wonderful time.
Now the hard stuff.
I will be out for a few weeks, but checking in.
I finally have my featherweight back from B&B here in Victoria. Looks like the bobbin plate was put in backwards. How, I will never know. Not by me! I am happy she works. It is so easy to tote around on my trips than my PFAFF.
I only hope to get some sewing done while away.
I want to get a head start on my project for March.
Nancy Drew Blog Hop!

Also, Pam from Heartspun Quilts is hosting another Sew-Along. Pocket Patchwork Orphans and Scraps. She will be posting every Friday during the month of January. She has great tips on Flying Geese today. My flying geese do not come out as well as hers. Practice, Practice, Practice here! I will be following along and hope to show what I come up soon.
On Monday, Linda from Buzzing and Bumbling is hosting a In Your Words Blog Hop. You can check the schedule here along with Madame Samm on her blog.

If you are up for a free block of the month in 2013, check here. The Civil War Quilts blog is hosting a monthy block and will start tomorrow.

I hope to sew many projects this year. With me traveling with my DH on his business trips, I am going to try my best.

Hope you are all snuggling up in a warm place. This is south Texas and the weather has been in the 40's all week.

Happy Quilting,
