Pixel Play in the mail!

Today was one of those days that I just did not have the UMP to do anything at all. This afternoon my WDH and I headed into town and on our way, we stopped at the mail box.

Look what came in the mail.

Goodies!!!!!

Pixel Play by Emily Cier.

Included also was a book of swatches from Robert Kaufman of Kona cotton solids. Ultimate 3-in-1 Color Tool, which will be a huge help to me, Aurifil thread which I have been dying to try.  A pattern and a coupon for 35% off from Carolina Patchworks. Emily is such a dear lady to send all these giveaways.

It made my day.
 I got my UMP back!

Thank you Pat Solan for picking my name out of the hat! LOL

Maple Leaf Swap

This is my first time sewing maple leaf blocks. Not an easy block to sew. I set up all my pieces in order. The one at the bottom of the group will not be mailed out. Only eight out of the group.  Will come back to that block. I do like how my blocks turned out and hope my fellow swappers will too.

Here comes my Sweetie!

Have you heard? There is a month long Paper Piecing Blog Hop over Whims and Fancies. How do you like my PP Witch? She is a bit green. Design by Cindy of Quilt Doddle Designs  She will look great on my Table stand. For all the patterns, stop by Whims and Fancies and check out all the designers participating. Take a friend to tag along, it's frightening!

Starting Monday, Madame Samm over Sew We Quilt, is cheering a Wicked Blog Hop. Check out her blog on Monday for a list of hostess.

Kicked off October 15 and Monday Debbie from  A Quilter's Table will be sharing her weekender experince and a giveaway. I have been wanting to make this bag and love that I can pick up a tip or two. It did not look easy for a beginner like me.

I am always writing things down on a notebook, sketching down designs, or doddling.

So I found a tutorial over Quilter in the Gap

Here is my cover.

It is late tonight and I need my sleep. I am taking my mother to Bay City to visit her little sister. They are having a 75th birthday dinner for my uncle and will be wonderful to see everyone.

Scrappy Great-Granny Halloween Quilt

That was a long title, but true.

SEE!

Halloween Scrappy G-Granny Square Quilt

This is not my orginal Great-Granny Square quilt that I was working on. I am still putting it together.  I had a lot of left over Halloween scrap material. Not sure where most of the materials came from.  Next, will figure out what to do for the backing.
The last row is off, but I was not about to take the ripper out again.
If you are interested in making a Great-Granny Square, check out Lori's tutorial over at Bee in my Bonnet. Great instructions.

It has been a long week. We left last Sunday to Galveston and the next morning I was sick for two days. I did not like being in the hotel room on a beautiful island along the gulf coast. No fun! By Wednesday, my WDH cut his business trip short and headed back on Wednesday evening. I was so happy to be home and sleeping in our very own bed.

I have been up in my office for the rest of the week and worked on my quilt. I also have some projects coming up next month and will preview my show then. I am about half way done and hope to write my posts early.

See you,

Pet Postcards

I did not get much sewing in today. I woke up late. Had a cup of coffee. Scrub my downstairs floors (kitchen and bathroom). Baked cookies. Caught up on email. Have not checked out the Leafs me  Happy blog hop. Finally shower and have not taken the laundry out of the dryer.

Ever had one of those days?

But I did received an email from Sarah Vanderburgh that I was one of three winners of 3 of her patterns she gave away in the Glorious Autumn Block Party.  Made my day.

I finally put up some hangers on my wall next to my design board so I can look at my handi work everyday in my office.

OK, enough!

Why I am posting, here are a few cards that I am sending to Quilt's Inc. Festival Critter Cars. You can read all about the fund raiser over at Pokey's Pondering blog.

Here are a few examples.

If you are going to be in Houston next month for the International Quilt Festival, there will be a booth selling the Festival Critter Card to raise money for the Friends for Life, a non-kill animal adoption and rescue organization. If you are interested, click over to Pokey's blog and read all the information. Recieved deadline is Tuesday October 23, 2012.

It is evening here and I need to go take the laundry out of the dryer and my WDH should be here home soon. I have not marked anything off my to do list.

I hope everyone has a wonderful autumn evening.
