Think Christmas Blog Hop


It's my stop today Think Christmas and I would like to give Lesley from The Cuddle Quilter and Madame Samm at Sew We Quilt a huge Thank You for all the hard work putting Think Christmas together.

I have three beauties to show in Red, Green and White. 
4" Tree Block by Bonnie K Browing

First, is a tree block pattern designed by Bonnie K Browning from her book Paper Piecing Pattern on the American Quilt Society. The pattern is a 4" paper piece tree block. I added a white fabric with round medallion and quilted with my sewing machine first time. Then sew two borders and bind. Total block size is 12 1/2" and fits perfect on my table stand. 

My second block is a bit larger. I first saw this pattern on Martingale .   The pattern is called Christmas Cat Chats.

Christmas Cat Chats 6" X 11"


The finish block is 6 1/2" x 11".  I added a decorative stitch for a collar and glitter button heart for the eyes.  Finished size  is 15" X 13".   The pattern is simple to follow and great for beginners. 

Next is a quilt that I started out with a 6 1/2" cut WOF until a yard later, I ended up with a 5" cut WOF. I do not know what happen or too many things going on at the same time or just Senior Moment!

Flip and Sew Quilt 38" X 38"

But,  I finished with a smaller quilt than I started out with.  I was told, this is a flip and sew pattern and is great for all those scraps sitting around.  I did start to  write a tutorial for the quilt, but it got too confusing. My applogies for that.

    Judith, your blocks are wonderful! The Christmas colors and fabrics are just so luscious! Sure looks like some Santas are in that fabulous quilt! Your cats are so elegant with their collars and button eyes! Thanks so much for participating...really loved seeing these blocks. Also love the picture of the quilt on the bench with that wonderful flower garden. Well done!

    Love the hearts as eyes for the cats, the simplicity of the tree and for chit-chat the mystery of where 1/4", 1/2" and other sizes go - seem to just disappear but love the quilt.

    I just printed the pattern for the Christmas Cat Chat Quilt. I thought it was very cute and just in time for Christmas for myself. I like the green, red and white colors.       I was at a quilting bee a few months ago and a member was laying out her blocks and I asked if I could borrow her pattern that she got from another guild member. I wrote the instructions and went from there until I cut some of my blocks the wrong size, but I am happy that I finished it. Happy hopping, Judith, Texas
