2nd post for the day "Loot is here"

I normally do not post twice a day.  But I had to share:

This came in the mail today.
My loot came in from Cat Patches on the Colonial Needle Give away.

Thank you Barbara for sharing your table toppers and beautiful mini quilts!

Also, the color pencils I order from Amazon came in over the weekend.  I cannot wait to dive right in.

The day is almost over and still have much to do before I can dive right in!

Zakka Style Pencil Case

This week's Sew-Along is Zakka Style Pencil Case.

Here is what I put together.

I had some scraps leftover from two fat quarters, linen and twill tape.

This is a great pattern to play with and add your very own touch or style.

I added a tag stamped on twill tape with JHT using rubber stamps and hand stitched the flap.

The instructions are very simple to follow and fun to sew.

So if you are wanting to join in, click on the button to the right on the sidebar or click  here at  LR Stitched for more information and visit Lindsey, host for Zakka Style Sew-Along.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day on this last day of April 2012.

New Bag posted on Flicker

New Bag I have posted on flicker.

I used my iphone to take this picture and not a very good photo, so I am truly sorry.

Made with fat quarters found at Joanns in Corpus Christi TX.  The closure is a cutting of my DH's very old metal tape measure.  I did get him two new tape measures.  I have made several bags for my girls and friends as gifts.  The pattern I picked up at Quilters Patch in Victoria TX.

I decided to make another little case for my gems instead of this one.

I used the same fat quarters for my credit card case and then some, hand sewn.  I will post a photo later.

Thanks for stopping by....... Judith, Texas

Zakka Style Sew-Along Sewing Kit

This past weekend I worked on my Zakka Style Sewing Kit before the DH and I were off to the big city streets. So here are my photos.  Please excuse the photos, since they are from my iPhone at 2 a.m. in the morning.  It's when I do most of my work.

The inside view.
I was searching for material for this project andI  came upon this in the last bin I was looking in. The linen I had from another finished project. (YAHOO!)
This is small enough to toss in my bag while on the road with my DH. Catch up on some hand sewing.

Roll-up view.

Outside view.

I used a covered button for the first time. I had a piece of fabric from the material. It was picture of a ironing board but you cannot see it.  I thought it came out beautiful anyway.  Not bad for the first time using cover buttons. I will be using them more.

I have other photos posted on flicker from the Zakka Style Sew Along. Feel free to view all the other beautiful work of art that are posted up from others in the sew along.

Here are my other finished projects from the Zakka Style Sew Along.

Inside view.. I added pockets across the bottom.  Added the same zigzag pattern as the front of the tote to the pocket front. Pocket for pen holder, cell phone and etc.

Back view.  I quilted the back.

April Fool's

Happy April Fool's Day!

This is one of my favorite times of the year.  Flowers are coming up and the weather has been wonderful. This month will be a busy challenging month for me.  I have several quilting projects.  The list is rather long, but I am up for a challenged.  Plus I travel with my husband on his business trips, so I try to have everything cut up, package and packed in my sewing bag to tote along with all the other bags (camera bag, tri-pod, suite case, laptop bag, snack bag) plus my backpack or purse. Not counting what my husband takes.  Good thing we have our tank to haul us all over the country.  I Know!!!!! I Know!!!!

Here is a picture of my Doll Quilt Challenge wrap around Teddy from last month's challenge.

Good night my fellow bloggers and wish every wonderful evening,

Judith
